frequently asked questions

Elisabeth Marie Photography became an officially licensed business in June 2013. It started out as being a part time job as I built my portfolio. Throughout the rest of 2013 I did sessions for whoever was willing to work with me. The summer of 2014 was when I photographed my first weddings by myself, and I will be forever grateful for those couples that took a chance on me and booked me for their wedding day. After running my photography business for several years, I finally was able to quit my 9-5 job to pursue only my photography business full time in September of 2017 and I haven’t looked back since.

I photograph wedding days with two Canon R6 camera bodies, and I have a Canon 85mm 1.4 lens, Canon 50mm 1.2 lens, Canon 135mm 2.0 lens, a sigma art 35mm 1.4 and a Canon 24-70mm 2.8 lens. And then a whole bunch of different lighting equipment for those wedding moments where adding in a little extra light is crucial to helping capture the day perfectly.
This is a popular question that I get asked, and the honest answer is that I really love photographing people. When it comes to a wedding day, as much as I love all of the pretty details and documenting that part of the day, I am going to gravitate towards the people that are there. I want to see their reactions, documenting them talking & laughing with one another. When it comes to families & senior sessions, I love getting to know the people that I am photographing. I like making people feel great about themselves. When working with a small business, I like to ask questions about what they do and learn more about the person behind that small business. That is why I photograph a variety of different things and don’t focus on just one thing, because what I am always striving to focus on, simply, is working with people.

Unfortunately, I have never photographed a destination wedding before, however it has always been my dream to do so. I love to travel and if you are planning a destination wedding, let’s chat!

Even though I have never traveled specifically for a photoshoot or wedding before, I have taken my camera on several different trips and I have taken photos in San Francisco CA, Cancun Mexico, Pigeon Forge TN, Siesta Key FL, Jinja Uganda, and Punta Cana Dominican Republic.
