Location ideas

Where should your photos be taken? There are so many beautiful areas in West Michigan to go that it can be a little overwhelming with trying to figure out the best spot. First of all, I just want to remind you that ultimately it isn’t where the photos are taken that is the most important but who the photos are with. Second, I feel confident that I could take your photos near a dumpster and still find a way to make them look amazing. With that being said, there are some things you can take into consideration when thinking about where would be best to do your photos:

1. Would you like a location with easy walking paths?

2. Are you hoping for a nature setting? Or an urban setting?

3. Where will you be hanging / displaying your photos? What type of backdrop will look good with where you want to have your photos shown?

4. What season is it? In the spring there are fun blooming trees & tulips, late summer there are locations with sunflowers & dahlias, or the fall with the fall color

5. Would you like an outdoor session? Or would you like to use a studio space? If you would like to do a studio session, it is located on the west side of Grand Rapids and is available at an additional fee

Shown below are some locations that I have done sessions at the most often and that I enjoy going to. Hover over the photo to see the same of the location listed. Do you have your own location in mind that you would love to go to? Tell me about it! I love exploring different areas in west michigan. I have done sessions in clients backyards, family cottages, and other fun parks in the area.
